Letter from the President - Season 2015
Mar 23, 2015, 5:23 pm
The 2015 outdoor tennis season is approaching. I'm sure many of you are looking forward to getting outdoors and playing in the warmer weather ahead.
Welcome back to all of our returning members. A special welcome too to those new members who have chosen to join Applewood. Please make yourselves at home as soon as you can and get involved in some of our many friendly club activities.
There are many tennis activities for all levels and players including: adult friendlies, competitive leagues, house leagues, round robins, junior programs and tournaments. Socials will again be offered in the 2015 season and we want to make those a really special time. Check the Calendar of Events on the back of this letter for dates and times.
Remember to thank all our Executive Committee members. We value the vital contributions made by them, as well as all of the many members who volunteer their time and energy, and greatly appreciate their continuing support. We are still looking for two Auditors, and someone to co-ordinate the tournaments. For those of you who can volunteer some of your time this season, please contact one of the Executive Committee.
This will, I’m sure, be another enjoyable year. We welcome your comments or suggestions, and hope that several members will come forward to help the Executive with these challenges.
Early registration will be at the clubhouse on Saturday April 18th from 11am to 2pm. On Sunday May 3rd you can also register during Opening Day from 11 am to 2:00 pm, attend the Spring General Meeting from 2 to 2:30 pm, and play in the round robin from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Alternatively, you can drop by clubhouse anytime an Executive Committee member or an attendant is on duty and sign up. Membership fees are $95 per Adult, $60 per Junior and $190 per Family (HST included).
Nets and Screens day is Saturday April 18th from 11am to 2 pm and we’d really appreciate the help of any members who can come out and help get the courts ready for play. Bring a ladder, some gloves and some willing hands. We’ll have pizza available for lunch.
Looking forward to seeing you on the courts.
Blair Seckington, 2015 President

2015 Pre-Season - Nite Lites
Oct 18, 2014, 4:10 pm
If you want to play at night with lights, you need to contact me the day before or more and give me your name and tag number. My contact is email@example.com (905-277-3051). I will give you the combination for the lock on the light pushbutton box on the electrical box between the parkette near the school and the cours on the south side. You open the pushbutton box. When open push the "ON" button" for the courts you want (N-north or S -south). Then lock it closed. It will turn off at 11pm.
The cost is $15 for courts 1-3 and $20 for courts 4-6 from 7 pm to 11pm. I will collect after. If others come it is up to you how you share thje cost. There is no hourly rate, just the rate for the night.
REMEMBER TO LOCK THE FRONT GATE WHEN YOU ARE LAST TO LEAVE.
2015 Pre-Season - Gate Combo Code
Apr 21, 2014, 5:10 pm
The combination lock is on the front gate, welded to the chain. If you need the combination, then the day before email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 905-277-3051 with your name and member tag number.
One thing - the number is to be aligned with a line across the upper part of the combiination area, not the middle of the combination area. It must be set pon the number to open or close the lock. Change the combination after you've closed the lock.
If you are last out of courts, LOCK THE GATE.
